been a long time

Sorry friends...don't know how often people visit me here, but for the few that do, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Good semester. Got the job, love the job, have the job offer already for when I graduate in the spring. :) Muy excited about that. Today we have a management solutions meeting, by the way. We took a social styles survey that tells us our working style. Should be interesting. It's nice that my boss places very high importance on how the people in the office work together.

Anyhoo, what else is going on? Um, designing some fun stuff. Knitting some fun stuff. Check out "Scarf Style" and "Hollywood Knits Style": two amazing knitting books. Also, I'm beginning to crochet a bit. It's not as great as knitting, but always nice to learn something new.

I will end my current post with this: GET OUT AND VOTE ON NOV. 2!! Please voice your opinion and take advantage of your citizenship. I'm not going to tell you who to vote for, but if anyone happens upon my little blog and is encouraged to vote, then I've done my part. Happy Election Day and have fun! Oh, and Happy Halloween! I'm going to be Martha Stuart. Should be fun. :)

it's hot again

Well kids, guess that hint of fall is over. It was in the 90's again yesterday here in Nashvegas. Fall schedule is beginning though with lots of busy-ness and activity. Don has started cross country season with his team camp this weekend at his parent's cabin in Dale Hollow, TN. I guess they do alot of running around in the hills while they're there. Have fun Don!

School starts on Monday. I'm so glad to not have night classes and am glad to be in my very last year at Watkins. What a wonderful school though. Please check out the website. I will be doing updates for it this semester as I am the "web" work study. In addition to that, 3 classes and working at echo, I will try to be true to my knitting passion this fall. Cooler weather is the best time to start knitting, so if you don't know how, PLEASE LEARN! It's fun and rewarding. Contact me for good info on how to learn, what to knit, etc.

Last thing...August is family month in Nashville. Christy, Dad, Mamma, and Elliot came to visit last weekend. Jon and his band will be through here Sunday and then Mom and John are getting here Thursday for a long weekend. I welcome anyone who'd like to visit this fine city of ours. Good luck to everyone as the fall begins. It's a busy time of year, but my favorite!

The end of an era

Well, here I am, finished with my summer class and the era known as "the year of the night class." I finally have no more night classes until the spring...only one then, once a week. Many of you have not been involved in my era of night classes, but let me tell you all you need to know...I'm so glad to be through with that craziness!

Exciting things are happening here in Nashvegas. I got offered a part-time job at echomusic, the place I have been interning this summer. I will be helping David, our savvy web designer, in the web design world, helping clients find themselves on the world wide web. It's very exciting. I am finally saying "hasta la vista" to the banking world. I can't say I'm too disappointed, but I am very thankful to have had such a great job to get me through many years of school. Cheers to all those in the banking world, especially my tellers, yo.

I can't believe it's already August. This is family month for me here in Nashville. Dad and Christy are swinging by McCrory and bringing Mamma into town in a couple of weeks. Then, Mom and John will be visiting this fine establishment on Aug. 26th. Fun times. Everyone who knows him, congratulate Jon on his newest venture. He will be playing guitar for a band called "The New Ending." He just moved home from St. Louis on Friday and is excited to persue music again for a while. Well, hope to hear from many of you soon. Love you all and let me know what you're up to. Props to Jason for pointing me in the right direction with adding links to the site. Later gators...

oh today

Lovely to get postings from friends! Yes Milton, of course I still love you! I understand that if your life is like mine, it's VERY busy! No rush. I'm excited to see things when they're done. You can give it to Jaime and Amber whenever you finish, if you'd like. Then send it to me. How fun, huh? If we just ever had time to work on it.

Well, things this weekend were pretty uneventful and somewhat eventful, but not exciting. Am working on a website portfolio for the company I intern for. Check it out sometime at

echomusic.com

I worked with the IT guy and he made a cool thing to set it up with. I was officially called a web nerd the other day and am very proud of that title. Still knitting. I'm working on a bag right now from "Hollywood Knits," a great book I found online. I'm using some cool yarn that's hand painted and is 50% soy silk and 50% wool. Pretty cool. If you like knitting, check out this site for funky british knits:

knitty.com

Okay, well kids, off to finish the bag and cook some pork tenderloin. Anyone know how to create links on this thing? If so, please post. Love to all...

Woah...welcome to the world of blog???

Cool...never really done this, never even posted many comments, but here we go. This will be a nice way to keep in touch with pals from all over. Anyone who has tips on budgeting, cool knitting patterns/yarns, favorite fonts, cool graphic design sites, or anything artistic and interesting, please send them my way.

Somewhere along the way we have a journal that's making its way around the country (but mostly in NW Arkansas) that we're all contributing to. Everyone should start their own thing like that. It's hard with people moving, but it's a great way for women especially to share thoughts, talent, ideas, and goings-on. Okay, off to a knitting group "Stitch-N-Bitch." Welcome to my blog-- I'm really glad you're here!
